PBB Tipper Shanna has sent in this article about Jonathan Goodrum, a 19 year old man who has pleaded guilty of raping his 1-day-old daughter.
1-day-old and still in the hospital, after a routine examination, vaginal tears were found on the infant. Police are only saying the tears were made with an “unknown object”.
The mother, Kristina Sawyer, 18, has pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of failure to report child abuse. It’s currently unclear what her involvement in this incident was. The guilty plea, to me, suggests she at least knew of the incident, but again, this is unknown.
He was sentenced to 10 years, minus the 11 months he has already served. I’m not exactly sure how this could happen, but… *sigh* the remaining 9 years of his sentence will just be probation?! Does this mean he will have only served 11 months for this? Somehow my brain is having trouble processing this information…
He’s not allowed to see his daughter, though it is unclear as to whether this applies to his other daughter, now 1-year-old. He’ll also have to register as a sex offender and see a psychiatrist.
To me, this seems to be a case where the punishment doesn’t match the crime.

WORD! I totally agree... dude should totally do some serious time for this. So should Mom. Do you know how sick you gotta be to do some sick ish like this? How friggin disturbing? Hey, you should ask your bloggers about the downturn of morals in our society? Why are we SOOOOOOOOO jacked up as a country? When did pedophiles become the norm? This crap deeply disturbs me. What's WRONG with people?
It baffles me how little time people get for harming children. America definitely has it twisted when it comes to the sentencing for different crimes. I wonder if they have a mandatory sentencing guideline for sex offenders depending on the level (i.e. indecent exposure, child molestation,statutory rape etc.)like they do for drug offenders?
One word...SICK!! I can't believe there are people like that in this world, but it's reality. Something must have happened to him as a child to be so disturbed. That's a freak'n baby! Him and the mom should be locked up for life. That child may never be the same. Mom was probably present when it happened. I want to curse and call them so many names, but I can't. Vengeance is the Lord's; however, we are still human. He woulda got a few licks in had it came across my way. Pedophiles get off so easily because they consider as "insanity". Them folks should be locked up quicker than folks that's in for sell'n drugs. Who cares about drugs when folks are out there hurting our youth?!
